Keep an eye out for 2022 Engineering milestones

The year 2022 has been a milestone year for Engineering. The next anticipated feet of engineering will be revealed in August 2022 when Nasa launches the Psyche mission. Psyche is a strange metal asteroid that was found orbiting between the planets Mars and Jupiter. Nasa will be sending a deep-space orbiter to mainly study the asteroids origins, as well as experiment on the future of deep-space communications. With this experiment Nasa will be able to test if lasers can transmit signals beyond the lunar orbit.
If the experiment is a success Optical signals will be able to be used, which can carry more data than our current radio signals can.
